And why I can't post when my wifi is turned on? |
Sorry, but I have no idea what you are talking about.

I'm the OP of this thread http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/307856.page
My comments disappeared and I can't post using wifi anymore. |
NP. I have a lot of trouble posting on my WiFi, can do it easily when I VPN in to work location. The pages constantly "refresh" and wipe out what I'm typing when I use the home WiFi. Kind of annoying. Only happens on this site that I've noticed.
Just wondering..? Sounds somewhat related, perhaps? |
Using your wifi, connect to this site: http://whatismyipaddress.com And then either post your IP address here or use the "Report" button to send it to me. Maybe your address is being blocked for some reason. |
Can you also provide your IP address? That sounds like there is some sort of proxy server between you and me that is misbehaving. |
The address that was just reported to me is not blocked. You shouldn't have any problems using the site. |
Hhhmm. And yet I do have problems w/it. Strange. And it really is just this site, not others, with the weird "refreshing" kind of thing going on. Any other ideas? It does it regardless of which computer I use, but only on the WiFi. I'll have to see if it does it only on the home one, or also when I'm at Starbucks or wherever. Thanks! |
The website does use a small file that does nothing but refresh every few minutes. That page should not normally be seen by users and the refreshing should not be noticed. We've never had a significant number of complaints about it. The only complaints of which I am aware come from a few users who access the site with Android-based smart phones. I think this is related to the particular browser that is included with their phones. Let me ask you this: you say the problem is with wifi, which I understood to mean at your home. Can you connect over your home connection without using wifi? For instance, but connecting your computer by an ethernet cable to the router? Maybe the issue is with your router? Another good test would be as you suggested, to try wifi with your computer from another location. |
