I'm looking for some new (to me) go-to dinner places in DC with a relaxed atmosphere and a cool vibe. Not too expensive or super loud. Good food is a must, and a good beer and/or wine selection would be ideal. Bonus points for outdoor seating.
I like places like Meridian Pint, The Heights, and Shaw Tavern, but I'm looking to branch out. Any suggestions? |

What about Red Rocks, right across from Meridian Pint?
Other places (some can get loud on the weekends, but not too bad on weeknights): Saint Ex Bar Pilar Radius Commissary The Coupe |
| Matchbox |
| Lauriol Plaza |
Crazy loud. But fun. |
| L'Enfant Cafe at 18th and Florida. So good. |

Surfside
District Taco Shop House We The Pizza or Good Stufd Eatery Beau Thai |
Am I the only one who thinks this place is seriously overrated? |
It's decent, but the last time I went there it was busting at the seams. It was good, but not that good. |

Very chill - Comet Ping Pong, Lebanese Taverna, Open City
+1 for Shop House and Surfside Less casual, but good for weeknight date night - District Kitchen, Ripple, Lavandou, Indique, Mama Ayesha's, Cafe Bonaparte |
| Blue 44 on Connecticut Avenue. |
| Mad Momos |
| Granville Moore's on H Street, NE |
Agreed on this one. It's pretty under the radar and the food is delicious and affordable. |
