Flats for summer?

Anonymous
So I'm not that into sandals. I wear them (and there's nothing wrong with my feet, they are taken care of ) but I just prefer the polish of flats and find them far more comfortable. Are there any stylish, lightweight ones for summer? I wear Toms for running around/casual wear but am looking for something more dinner/work appropriate.

Any suggestions? I can't be the only person who doesn't love sandals, wedges and flip-flops.

I got a pair of Born flats from REI. Very comfortable with arch support:

I saw so many cute flats this past weekend at Nordstrom. All colors and super cute. I wish I could buy them all.

Search for fabric flats on Zappos. I bought a pair ofs Lucky Brand one that (I think) are cute.
Matisse and Joe's Jeans also make some.
If you want something more casual, Rocket Dog makes sneaker soled flats and Blowfish does espadrille inspired flats.

Target has a lot of cute flats.

Pricy but I saw some Cole Haan lace ups this weekend in patent leather that I think would look great with pants even for a more casual workplace.

Can anyone suggest flats for someone with bad bunions (so the leather/plastic doesn't cut the top of the bunion). Thank you.

OP here. Thanks all. I'm definitely looking for something leather. If it has a leather sole, that's a plus. Has anyone dropped the $$$ on Repetto?

My sister has repetto flats. She loves them.

THe most expensive flats I've ever bought are some from Missoni. They look amazing, but they're not super comfortable and the pointed toe became a bit worn. I got mine at Intermix.

What I usually do is buy some from J Crew in a half size larger than my foot. I then put some superfeet insoles inside to support my arches. Sometimes the flat is too narrow or has a too small toe box for this.

Have you considered espadrilles for the super hot days?

I'd try them on or make sure there is a good return policy for online stores.
