When did your baby start playing with stuffed animals?

My 14 month old isn't interested in all the stuffed animals and lovies we were given. He likes random stuff of ours.

When do toddlers start liking stuffed animals?

My nearly 20 month old has just started to become fond of a stuffed animal, and I think my older child did so at about the same age as well.

My son is 15 mo. Only in the past month or so has he started snuggling with his lovies/stuffed animals. He doesn't actually do pretend play with them though. He just hugs them and carries them around a little bit; and snuggles with them in his crib. It's so cute too!

I may have started it by often telling him "give bunny a hug!" or "give your frog a kiss!"

My boys are now a preschooler and a toddler, and they NEVER have cared about stuffed animals. We have a few cute ones in pristine condition. The older never touched them and the younger gives Tigger a hug maybe 1x/week, then drops him on the floor and moves on. I've tried but they don't give a hoot.

DD#2 - around 18 months

Twins - both started snuggling lovie blankets at 10 months, than stuffed toys (each a certain one) at 11 months.

Around 18 months DS became attached to one particular stuffed animal and started carrying it around. Shortly thereafter he started incorporating the stuffed animal in some basic pretend play like pretending to feed it or putting it on top of a truck and then pushing the truck around. DD is 15 months and not interested in stuffed animals at all yet.

Baby loves the laugh & learn doggie who sings and has the light-up heart, and has hugged him & played with him for short timeframes, since about 6-8 months. Will be 1 soon and plays with other stuffed animals or snuggles with them, though not for long, lol.

My son has a teddy bear he's played with consistently since about 5 months old. It was about the same size he was, and he liked to "wrestle" with it. I'm not sure I would consider it a lovey, though - just another thing to climb on.

DS is 18 months. He gives stuffed animals hugs occasionally, but he fell asleep the other day cuddling the TV remote and a shoe. Kids are weird.

It is so variable by kid. My first kid didn’t get into them til 3 or 4 but remains attached to several at almost 11. My second kid was into them much earlier like well before 2 and still is. That was my child who was also into dolls very early, which first kid never was.

Not all toddlers like stuffed animals.
