Ours started to be attached to her Teddy Bear between maybe 24 months and 30 months. It was longer than we had expected. |
My DS1 never had any interest in stuffed animals. My DS2 developed an attachment to one around 12 months, and he grew very attached indeed (so much so that I bought another and rotated them lol), but he never "played" with it or any other stuffed animal. He just liked to sleep with it and sometimes carried it around. |
Mine started carrying a lovey around 6 months - slept with it, hugged it, etc. Real play with stuffed animals or baby dolls started around 10 months for my girl and 14 months for my boy. On the other hand neither was ever into dinosaurs or trucks or various other things many kids like. It's highly variable! |
Ours had a brief flirtation with a stuffie at 18 months, but that didn't last. Around three she got interested in another one and that was when stuffies became a regular part of our lives. Four-five was probably the high point for "play" in the sense of dragging a bunch of them out for a tea party or something.
Now, she's nearly eight and I'd say her interest in them for cuddling is as high as ever. She's usually got her favorite tucked her arm any time she's reading for instance. |
Between 2-3 years of age. At 3 she's gotten very attached to a doll. |
This is adorable. |
My newly 2 year old has recently gotten really into dolls and stuffed animals. She has about fifty gazillion of them in her crib and she makes sure they’re all there when she goes to sleep or we have to hunt them down. She even remembered when she had left one in the car the other night! But my older kid never got into stuffed animals at all. He was more of a toy car/truck kid. We used to have matchbox vehicles all over our house.
Each kid is so different! |
