US Club Soccer already made an announcement in favor of a change. This seems like they don't have the votes and are trying to create the appearance of consensus.

US Club only made an announcement this was being voted on and they are with the majority . It seemed neutral to me. However USYS president did put out a statement they are for the change which is the best indicator this will happen.

There's a new rumor that ACC, Big 10, and other college leagues are in talks to drop NCAA and align to US Soccer. If it happens they'll do year round soccer that mirrors MLS.

Also MLS is changing to BY to align to European Pro standards. What this means is that college might completely change to BY.

Explains why MLS and maybe GA arent commenting on BY to SY.

Also just to make things fun here's Google doc with all Mens D1 and D2 coaching contact info.

These developments are starting to concern me. Is ecnl trying to jump the gun here? Is their Business Model is to only prepare the kids for college, and college id preparing itself to be a pro-tier…what happens next. This is one big chess match.

Even if this happened college recruiters would still be most interested in grad year so SY still works.

It would strengthen MLSN to college pathways.

Correct, this has no bearing on college coaches’ preference to have ECNL teams be all same school year

Watch US Soccer flip the switch and top GA clibs become NWSL Next acadamies.

It would instantly become the preferred youth to now pro college pathway.

US Soccer wanted BY for a reason.
MLS wants BY for a reason.

For that 0.0001% of players that turn pro. They can do BY but the rest of youth soccer is changing

Keep saying that but US Soccer is starting to make moves and they appear to prefer BY.

If MLS USM/WNT Pro leagues are all birthyearish and NCAA is falling apart before our eyes BY might stay around longer than you think.

US Soccer, NWSL, GA have nothing to do with eachother GA soccer dad. Top GA clubs? Are there anymore?

This thinking is all denominator based. It’s like the “only 10% of HS athletes play college”…well duh…the college pathway isn’t through HS anymore.

So now the SYstans are telling everyone to wait for more information and not jump to conclusions based on rumors?

That’s rich.
