The brawl involved McKinley Tech and Wilson Students. Pretty frightening.

This is why many families won't even consider Wilson.

Depressing because we are planning a move west of the park soon because it solves K-8, but not so much for high school. Which makes me think we should just go MoCo now and be done with it.

The suburbs don't solve it all. There have been numerous fights between McLean and Langley after football or basketball games over the years. They just don't make the news for some reason.

World Salad Lady says McKinley is great. So does Kaya.

Racism, obviously.

Ha. Right. I live in close proximity and wouldn't send my dog to McKinley.

My dog would get beat up at McKinley.

Wouldn't send my dog to DCPS.

How convenient that everyone ignored 17:44. I wonder why.

17:49 did - "Racism, obviously." That's what you are implying, right?

I live by Wilson in tenley. I would consider it if they still have the Academies when DS is of age.

All the bad stuff happens off campus. Now that there are MPD officers all around the perimeter blocks of Wilson -- which I can see daily with my own eyes -- the fights and beefs and heck, probably gun posturing, happen still but way off campus. Like in gallery place, for instance.

Yeah. It all happens off campus.

Anyone remember when the freshman got his face pounded in by 3 other "freshman" who were 17 and 18?

That was at the start of Rhee's tenure as I recall.

This is when I knew DCPS was not an option for high school for my children.

Gun posturing? Is there gang activity at Wilson? Where do IB families send their kids to high school if not Wilson? I mean obvious there are the Sidwell Friends and G'town Visitation kids, but what about families who don't want to/can't throw down the $35k+ per year for high school?
