Are there maternity pants in existence that don't fall down?

Ok, I am on baby #2 so I'm starting to feel that maybe they don't exist. The other day I ran to get the phone and my pants were literally around my knees. It is crazy. Anyone have any recommendations? I have tried cheapies from Target and Old Navy and some from Apple Seed...to no avail. Your help is appreciated!

Oh my God you cracked me up! I feel the same way (also on baby #2 ). I've got nothing, but commiseration.

I find that in the early days (even now at almost 6 months with baby #2) the "below the belly" single elastic band types work for me. The "cover the whole belly" pants never stayed up with baby #1 until the very end. They were actually more comfortable then given the little extra support. good luck and for now I'd say - no chasing baby #1 in a public place!!

DOn't know how far along you are, but I used a bella band until the pants fit better.

bella band was my saving grace...

I know what you mean! For that precise reason I can only wear pants with belt loops. Then I use my (or my husband's-in later months) belt to fasten. Works well. I was able to find pants with belt loops at Mimi maternity as well as Motherhood. As for the ones without the belt loops... I am constantly pulling them up! Very annoying!

I actually still wear most of my regular pants and jeans, but looped a rubber band around the button hole to fasten them keep them up. I've had to use bigger rubber bands as the baby bump expands, but it works well so far...just have to make sure to wear a long shirt/sweater/sweatshirt over the rubberband-button section.

I got the "secret belly" pants at Pea in the Pod-also a cheaper version available at Motherhood maternity. I never had the pants falling problem again.

sadly, I've had three kids and I'm now a size 4 and ALL my pants still fall down. I am sad to say it's because I still have a little baby belly. Very unfortunate.

Yeah it used to drive me crazy. All the pregnancy pants I found were either loose around the waist and I spent all night pulling them up, or they were tight in the leg and I spent all night hoping I wouldnt bust a seam. Then I bought some black yoga pants from Target iirc by Champion. They worked wonderfully. I'm 3 months and only 25 pounds pp and I'm still wearing them everywhere until I can get back into my pre-pregger jeans.

I'm so glad you posted this! I have to pull up my Old Navy maternity jeans every 5 minutes, it seems. My Gap pants with the below-the-belly waistband stay up well, though.

My Gap below-the-belly pants seem to stay up the best. (I'm 36+ weeks). I tried one pair of the over-the-belly pants from Old Navy, and they didn't seem to stay up any better. I also couldn't STAND the way the over-the-belly thing felt. I consulted the other women in my childbirth class, and we all agreed that all of our pants fall down, no matter the style, and that we do spend a lot of time hitching them up. It's like trying to put pants on a beach ball.

All my maternity pants fall down EXCEPT the citizens of humanity jeans that I got at a higher end store. They have a tighter elastic band at the top of the tummy part and are also cut smaller where the actual jean part stops and the tummy part begins.

Otherwise everything falls down.

I second (or third) the secret belly panel. I loved the below the belly ones for my first two trimesters but now, at 37 weeks, they fall down terribly. Also, the seam where the jeans stop and the band begins on the below belly band seems to cut into my belly and it's not very comfortable. Adjusting my pants every five steps is no fun either. I also found some tanks at Motherhood (by the underwear) that are helpful. They look really tiny (one size fits all) but stretch way out and they help hold up jeans, yoga pants etc. Great for layering right now!

I haven't had any trouble with any pants from Motherhood Maternity but I've found that I prefer the over-the-belly option. The under-belly was never comfortable and when I bought from non-maternity places like Ann Taylor Loft, they weren't tight enough.
