I love the name Charlotte but the husband seems on the fence about it - he made some comment along the lines of "what would her nickname be? Charlie?"
Any thoughts on other nickname options would be great (and no, a nickname isn't 100% necessary, but I'd love to have other options to present to him). |

Charlie. Only.
Stay away from Lottie. |
| My friend's daughter is Charlotte with a "C-" middle name and goes by CC. |
|
Charlie's the obvious one.
It's not a real nickname, but we have friends who often shorten their daughter's name and call her Char (pronounced with a soft c like Shar). |
| Charlotte by itself is a lovely name. My daughter's name is Caroline (similar in length and formality). She has never gone by a nickname and it hasn't been an issue, i.e. nobody has ever tried to call her Carrie or anything like that. |
| Carlie. |
Charlie. I love those more masculine nicknames for little girls - I think it sounds tough and confident and cool. I knew a girl named Jamie growing up and she went by James. Girl was bitchin in every way.

| I really like charlie. Lottie / lettie is another choice, but I'm not too into that. Plus any combo initial CJ, CC, etc. Also, there are the organic nicknames that your child just somehow generates. |
| You hear Charlie a lot. My aunt was Charlotte and was called Char or Charl (both with initial sh- sound). |
| Charlie and Lottie are about the only two I know of. |
| Carly |
| tell him there will not be a nickname. If he wants to call her a different name then name her that name. |
| Char |
| I think Lottie is adorable. |
| CC. Char, Lottie- such a great name! |
