That, and the 8th graders already playing in HS.

Understandably, a few are nervous about tryouts - especially the goalie that came close to getting replaced last year.

Once M&D gets to recruiting, they'll play equal playing time so players just need to get through this summer. I think that's how most team play in high school to get the girls recruiting

The danger with M&D, they will move kids from black to red the summer before soph year, essentially killing their recruiting.

Exactly - and that is devastating.

I believe this is 2 years in a row YJ was in a win or go home situation in last game of NGLL season and lost. Ouch

Wonder if a big loss of M&D Red will push more of the YJMA girls to Capital... one thing to lose to Black. But 10-3 loss on a win and in situation to Red? Ouch

It's close, but BLC 2030 currently ranks near the bottom of the list of the top DC-area U14/MS teams over the last five years.

#1; 2021-2022; Stars 2026; #7; 97.98 Rating
#2; 2022-2023; BLC 2027; #7; 97.35 Rating
#3; 2023-2024; Pride 2028; #7; 97.18 Rating
#4; 2025-2026; BLC 2030; #8; 95.42 Rating
#5; 2024-2025; M&D DC 2029; #15; 96.18 Rating

PS - You could probably make an argument that BLC 2030 should be last with that 95.42 rating.

What’s the relevance of this, and how much time did you spend on it? While we’re digging into historical numbers, I’d be curious: over the past five years, for the D.C. area teams, has there ever been as large a gap between #1 and #2-5 as there is this year for the 2030s?

BLC parents never stop delivering the hilarity

YJMA doesn't have any girls who would make Capital Blue, those spots belong to BLC girls who are superior in every position

According to this board there's 10 girls in M&D Red that could make Cap Blue. Clearly not all the BLC girls would make it then.

We will see how good Capital turns out to be. If it’s just the current BLC team, then we already know what their ceiling is.

They looked awful playing Red. Are there any from that team that Capital would actually want?

It won’t be the entire BLC team, but it will be most of them. After that, they’ll pull from the CAP program. About five girls from YJ DMV, one or two from M&D DC and Stars, plus a couple from random teams or a surprise or two. It should be a strong team, likely in the top 10–15 range, good enough for high brackets and plenty of exposure.

It feels like there is tension in the air among the DMV teams.
