Has anyone gottten off the Haynes PS3 waitlist? I've had no luck when trying to get someone at the school to tell me if we've moved up the list.

For real? Would you mind sharing your number?

Keep trying to get someone at the school to give you an official answer. DCUM is helpful, but not always accurate. And that's an understatement.

I am curious about the poster who got off the WL in the teens. From what I just heard, they have moved up 12 spaces. So, if that's correct, then #13 would be #1 on the list.

I was 19 and am now 7.

Did you find out that are now 7 by calling the school directly?

#7 here, yes I did. Right before I posted, actually. After the PP who was in the teens got a call. So that's why I'm curious.

Great news. Congratulations on getting closer! I also called but didn't get a sense of further potential movement through the summer. Did you get a sense of whether Haynes anticipates accepting more WL kids since they're already at WL12?

Mr Torres suggested calling in 3 weeks. He said that there were still a few families offered slots who hadn't confirmed yet and there were deadlines soon. He didn't anticipate being bumped down on this round (eg, a sibling moved up the WL). I think that there might be more movement, slowly, over the summer as other kids get off other waitlists (DCPS and charter) and withdraw, but it will be slower going, and it may not move much more than a few slots if that. So, I am a little more optimistic than I was, but not planning on getting in (planning to get a final, heartbreakingly close number, like #2).

I know of someone in the 20's who got off for PS3

I got off the WL from number 11. Whoever is 13 should be two now or higher.

Really? I'm not sure if that's possible if they're supposed to go by the book. Unless this 20s kid was a sibling. Right now, they should be at WL#12.

to the person who posted this, is there a sibling involved taking a spot too? if not, makes me a little anxious (number 19 now 7 here).

don't listen to posts like the one above. any story that says "i have a friend who..." is suspect
