Remove Graphic Photo Boston

Can you remove this photo and links? The poster warns that it's graphic but I had no idea of the extent of his injuries. I'd seen cropped versions on traditional sites. It's the most upsetting thing I've seen on DCUM.

The same photo, not blurred out, is on NYTimes. At least it was when I viewed it on my iPad and hour ago.

I don't think it should be taken off. You are reading a thread about a tragedy/terrorist attack. The photo is blurred. Just because it's more than what you wanted to see doesn't mean it should be censored.

Poster of that link warned that it was very graphic, OP. Click at your own risk. That being said, respect for the injured/dead may be a better reason to discourage spreading these photos.

somebody describe it? Is it the guy in the orange top lying on his back in the road?

The person who posted that link could not have spelled out more clearly what the injuries shown in the un-blurred version were...

I bet it was a lot more upsetting to him.

PP here and I'm not trying to sock puppet or whatever. But I don't think you have any legitimate claim to ask this be removed. There is a graphic warning. If you don't want to be uncomfortable, then you should not have looked.

OP here. 23:31, the same photo is not in the Times. The Times photo is cropped so much, it's hard to tell what's wrong with his legs. It's not clear that his legs have been blown off. Why wasn't the PP be more descriptive in her warning? I've been clicking in graphic warnings on traditional media sites for years, and I have never clicked onto something this horrific. I'm sure Fox did not rebroadcast the screenshot. I also wonder what the PP's motives are. How do these links inform DCUM?

I leave it to Jeff to make the call.

P.S. Of course respect for the injured is important, too.

The OP warned about the links graphic multiple times.

You are a pain.

No. It's a younger man with both of his lower legs blown off, being wheeled away in a wheelchair. It appears that one of those attending to him is holding on to a blood vessel, squeezing it shut.

This is the real world dear. Maybe this will help people like you to wake the f*** up and stop living in a daydream. Don't click on links that say *warning. Simple. PPs motives are probably to wake stupid people like you up. This isn't Real Housewives and Toddler's and Tiaras. If we don't start getting down to business and start dealing with those that commit terror, then we might as well get used to seeing severed legs. I know it is vogue to only be outraged by gun violence, but bombs are pretty awful.

Just as an update, the young man is alive and in stable condition as of right now. His family first saw the picture on the news but have now reposted the cropped version on their own online pages.

I want to know who that man in the cowboy hat is. Doesn't look to be a medical person. Yet he is clamping what appears to be the femoral attery with his fingers. That man is a hero.

How do you know? Are there specific updates? I hope he improves.
