McVeigh is the most obvious example but there are many others. Eric Rudolph, Holocaust museum shooter, guy who flew a plane into the IRS office in Texas, etc.

Pardon my ignorance, but is each terrorist automatically assumed to be a crazy right-winger?

Those who target the government, yes. Also those who target racial minorities. It's a key part of their beliefs that the government is illegitimate because it's run by Jews and/or socialists. That's about as right-wing as it comes. I suppose there could be left-wing terrorists, but they usually chain themselves to trees or block whaling ships, I honestly can't think of examples where they kill people.

Are right wing Jewish people considered to be, not really Jewish?

Was just wondering. Thanks for any clarification.

Not the PP, but there are right-wing Jewish terrorists, right-wing Muslim terrorists, right wing Christian terrorists - what matters in all of them is a militant stance and narrow-minded focus according to certain religio-political ideologies. The label doesn't so much matter, so much as the means to assert their specific right-leaning agendas.

You are confusing religious terrorism with right wing terrorism.

What's the difference? Religion is always political.

Not any more political than left wing terror groups. You are confusing terms.

Sure. Yes, there are left wing terrorists. All terrorism is political. But these terms - religious, right wing, etc, regularly overlap. They aren't necessarily distinct.

Loughner is not an example of a right wing terrorist. His Online evidence and rantings show elements of both the far left and the far right. He is simply an extremely mentally disturbed individual who had become fixated with Giffords.

From the perspective of the people who believe the feds are illegitimate because of Jewish control, there is no understanding of distinctions in political ideology (and I don't pretend to understand or defend this brand of anti-semitism). There was a thread about the gold standard a while back that talks about anti-government ranting rooted in this particular set of beliefs.

I think it's more fair to all sincere people of faith to categorize most acts of terrorism as political, as religion is just the justification not the underlying cause. All of those rationales are perversions and do not reflect beliefs held by the majority of followers of any faith.

CNN is reporting 138 injured. At least 25 in critical condition and at least 10 people with limbs amputated.

One of the worst injuries FYI very gruesome not for the faint of heart Don't click if you are easily shocked. It's a man's leg shredded to the bone and hanging.
