$899k for a rambler.

I know all the standard justifications (DC market is special, this time its different, etc). But seriously, who can look at this listing and not see BUBBLE written in big red letters? Who pays this much for such a bland little house?

Um its 5 bedroom 4 full bath. Not sure your definition of SMALL?

Packing 5br into 2000 sq feet doesn't make it spacious. 5 walk in closets really.

I think people are used to seeing a newer home for that price but the n arlington market is pretty crazy.

I don't know VA really well, but in Bethesda, that would go in a heartbeat. Plenty of bedrooms and sq footage. I'd take it.

Looks spacious. You just seem like a McMansion snob.

I like ramblers but 899 is a lot. That said, the big windows/vaulted ceiling in back is pretty special. That's where you'd live.

Trick photography. You can't get 5 spacious bedrooms into that square footage.

It's overpriced, but then again, someone will buy it. It's North Arlington after all! I would not, it has no appeal at all. Looks like the sellers have moved out and are trying to get as much as they can for their little home!

Am I the only one who caught that it says "Manners" in the subdivision name?

All I can think is "Thank goodness I don't need to live in Arlington"

My house (about the same size and half the price) was being used as a 5 BR when we saw it - because they had turned the den/family room into a bedroom for one of their 4 adult children who had been living at home.

Yeah, I don't see how these prices are sustainable, really. But someone will pay it ...

OP your title is rude. I love my rambler, very similar to the one pictured. Anywhere else it'd be worth $200k but in the DC area (close in but not N Arlington) it was recently appraised at $700k.

Why are you suddenly shocked that your real estate dollar doesn't go far here, and that the houses are old or aren't all immaculate colonials?

That's BS if you watch house hunters they often have ramblers for 100k

I love the dining room table all set with no chairs. Actually made me LOL.

The square footage listed on the site is probably does not include any living space below grade. It's a raised rambler, so it has a basement.

I suspect the basement is finished and there are extra rooms.

So it's a lot more than 2000 sq feet of living space.

That said, I agree that the prices in this region (dc/md/nova) are outrageous.
