Tufts

I am not disagreeing per se, but how so?

CMU is elite in many disciplines. It is a good size school for those who want "mid size" and is a fantastic campus in a good urban setting. I am not sure if Tufts has as many elite programs - I am only partially familiar with the two schools, but this is the first time I have seen CMU compared, so I would be interested in more detail.

In its athletic conference? No one cares about that. Boston is great. 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 have appeal by virtue of that fact.

Which has better opportunities in med/health care internships?

Yeah I'm sorry but the vast majority of Americans (and non-Americans, too) would say Carnegie Mellon is a tier above Tufts.

Both actually, I would think.

NESCAC is a very commonly used shorthand for the grouping of colleges and is certainly relevant to the conversation here. The point is that Tufts isn't stellar or stand-out in just about any of the spaces it inhabits. It's middlingly decent, and a fine school to be proud of, but people here are really trying to hawk it as a superior institution and sticking their noses up at other schools that most would consider to be equal to Tufts.

Why are you sorry? Some of the happiest mist successful people I know went to nondescript state schools. Just discuss the schools and see if posters can find fits for their students.

One person is not people. Can comments please be made about other things regrading tufts other than rank or prestige.

NESCAC is an athletic conference, just like the Big10 and ACC. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Not useful. Write something useful. Did you go to tufts? Then write about it. It can't be like bowdoin or Hamilton...great schools but rural and isolated....tufts is in Medford so it is different.

Tufts is a fine school. Don’t oversell it.

I had to stop reading at page 12, you guys were so far off track. Back to the niece: where does she want to go? Is she interested in Tufts? Does her mother want her to commute or will she live on campus?

Stopped reading after “you guys.”
