Even parents on the opposing sidelines see the appeal in leaving a toxic environment after they've witnessed the venom.

Agreed. Everyone who attends Achilles game, opposing team, parents of opposing team, and refs have commented to kids and parents involved with Achilles - “why would you put up with that?”

And some put up with it because they want to play for their high school team too.

LMAO. Why would WV spend $$ to get their @$$ kicked before the season.

Also, any team who applies and pay will be accepted.

Imagine being so petty you actually log into a soccer tournament website just to come back on an anonymous message board to talk sh*t.

Sal lives in your head rent free. That’s the real takeaway.

No, I think they have a u13, u14, u16 and u19. So a 2008 would be playing up.

You are correct -- there is no Achilles 2008 (U17) MLSNext team this year. Achilles did have a 2008 (U16) team last year, but they finished at the bottom, so MLSNext did not permit Achilles to have a U17 MLSNext team this year. Same thing happened in the Spring of 2023 -- three other Achilles MLSNext teams (including the then U17 team) finished at the bottom, so all three age groups were not permitted to have teams last year.

Yes, the kids who were on the Achilles 2008 U16 MLSNext team last year -- the team that finished at the bottom and was eliminated for this year -- are now playing on this year's Achilles U19 MLSNext team. Half of this year's roster are only 16 years old, so it will be very difficult for the team to compete. Last year's Achilles U19 team also performed very poorly, so combining two poor performing teams into one is likely not a winning strategy.

what about u15?

There is no Achilles U15 MLSNext team this year either. Achilles is not permitted to field teams for certain age groups and/or they don't have enough players, so they keep playing kids up to form a team. If most of the Achilles players would have a hard time competing in MLSNext at their age level, playing up is not going to work. It is not good for the kids, and, in the long run, it will not be good for Achilles.
