“Sessions, who was one of the most endangered Republican incumbents during the 2018 cycle, was one of 15 House candidates to benefit from America First’s eight-figure independent expenditure campaign. The group ultimately dropped more than $3.1 million supporting Sessions and attacking Allred, according to Federal Election Commission data. Only one other House candidate got more America First air support last year.“
https://www.thedailybeast.com/america-first-action-backed-by-giuliani-henchmen-spent-big-for-pete-sessions-after-he-targeted-ukraine-diplo

From the same article:

"Sessions’ role in the saga began in the spring of 2018. On May 9, Parnas posted photos to Facebook showing him and a business associate, David Correia, posing with the then-congressman in the Capitol complex. Two days later, Sessions shot off a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo questioning the fitness of Yovanovitch.

"Six days after the letter was sent, Global Energy Producers made its donation to American First. The following month, Parnas and Fruman each donated the legal maximum to Sessions’ campaign.

"America First spokesperson Kelly Sadler said there was no understanding when GEP donated to the group that it would be supporting Sessions’ candidacy, or that the money provided by Parnas’ and Fruman’s company would go towards a specific candidate."

Holy crap Pete Sessions’ father was a former FBI Director.

HOLIER CRAP Further research confirms that that former FBI Director, William Sessions, has served as Semion Mogilevich’s lawyer for years. Mogilevich is the Ukrainian-born, Russian organized crime boss, believed by European and United States federal law enforcement agencies to be the "boss of bosses" of most Russian Mafia syndicates in the world.

Dear Trump voter. I’m trying to understand what you are worried about? That Trump is corrupt of that he has been caught?

Because Rudy is clearly involved and I thought this sort of thing was beneath him. And there are all those photos of the two guys with Trump and Don Jr.

I’m sorry. I’m sure you truly thought Trump looking out for your best interest but sadly he is corrupt.

During your extensive interactions with Ukrainian officials, you also reportedly "pressed the Ukrainian president to fire members of the Naftogaz advisory board" and "made clear" to Ukrainian officials and energy sector officials "that the Trump administration wanted to see the entire Naftogaz supervisory board replaced." You reportedly gave President Zelensky a list of potential board members, including Michael Bleyzer, who "donated $20,000 to Perry's reelection campaign" in 2010, and Robert Bensh, "another Texan who frequently works in Ukraine."

According to press reports, your efforts raised questions about whether you were "seeking to provide certain Americans help in gaining a foothold in the Ukrainian energy business at a time when the new Ukrainian government was looking to the United States for signals of support in its simmering conflict with Russia."

The proposal to install new board members at Naftogaz was reportedly promoted by three donors to Donald Trump's presidential campaign: "two Soviet-born Florida real estate entrepreneurs, Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, and an oil magnate from Boca Raton, Florida, named Harry Sargeant III." According to these reports, their plan was to "steer lucrative contracts to companies controlled by Trump allies. In service of these efforts, Mr. Parnas, Mr. Fruman, and Mr. Sargeant also touted "a plan to replace Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolyev with another senior executive at the company."

Mr. Pamas and Mr. Fruman are also "clients of Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani." When Mr. Giuliani was asked about efforts to install new members on Naftogaz's board, he responded, "I may or may not know anything about it. "

Throughout this period, Mr. Parnas, Mr. Fruman, and Mr. Sargeant reportedly "touted connections to Giuliani and Trump while trying to install new management at the top of Ukraine's massive state gas company." They also "appear to have had inside knowledge of the U.S. government's plans in Ukraine." For example, "Mr. Parnas and Mr. Fruman boasted that they had worked with Mr. Giuliani to force the recall this spring of the American ambassador to Ukraine, Marie L. Yovanovitch."

Mr. Parnas and Mr. Fruman reportedly "told people that Trump would replace the U.S. ambassador there months before she was actually recalled to Washington." When Mr. Giuliani was asked about whether he was involved with this effort to recall the Ambassador to Ukraine, he responded, "I did play a role in that."

Why shouldn’t Americans be able to install cronies in positions where they can rig contracts, licenses, and monopoly power in foreign countries just like they do here in the U.S.? No American business person really believes in free market competition based on price, quality, efficiency, customer service, etc. They are all built around cronyism, corruption, and extortion. That is why they are so afraid of Warren. They don’t know how to function if the government can’t be bribed or bullied.

Beneath Rudy? Uh, he has been corrupt for decades. Part of his rooting out the NY Italian mafia was to pave the way for the Russian mafia.

Did you seriously not know this?

Another departs

Michael McKinley, a career diplomat and senior adviser to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, has resigned his position amid rising dissatisfaction and plummeting morale inside the State Department over what is seen as Pompeo’s failure to support personnel ensnared in the Ukraine controversy.

See Washington Post.

Here's a great thread outlining all of this by ProPublica. They show that Fruman and Parnas had dinner with Trump at the White House. Despite Trump denying today that he knew them.

Question...if the two who were arrested were being monitored by the FBI and there were conversations that included Rudy, does that mean Rudy was being spied on?

Because that is the exact claim that Trump is making about his campaign.

IMO, no, Rudy was NOT being spied on, but he got rolled up by others who were legally being monitored.
