She is talking about an individual at the kids school not letting him have his candy bar. It’s not political. Lol. |
My kids (and many many others) have a family history of heart disease and diabetes. I don’t want their school feeding them 2,000 calorie lunches every day so that the football players don’t feel woozy. My kid is a student athlete. A good breakfast, school lunch, and a substantial snack or protein shake before practice was enough. Student athletes should not be relying on school lunches for the bulk of their nutrition. |
Your child attends a public school? It’s not up the the school to limit calories or portions or provide a diet that prevents diabetes and heart disease. If your child is at risk of heart disease and diabetes in middle school, that’s between you and the child’s doctor. School lunches are not medically supervised diets. Again: growing kids and teens do NOT need portion control of healthy foods. |
When they’re there most of the day they should be. I’m sorry your kids are little mine are bid and athletic. My daughter plays soccer and son plays rugby and does wrestling and Olympic weightlifting. They need calories and if they’re like me or their mother who are athletes and have been athletes their metabolism is very high |
+1 The same women here ok with portion control and calorie limited lunches for normal, healthy, and athletic kids are the same ones who would cry if they were breastfeeding and their mom told them to cut back. Hypocrisy thy name is liberal. And honestly, Michelle Obama is a healthy woman. She’s no shrinking violet nor wasp waisted WASP. The woman enjoys her food and work outs. Yet American kids get smaller turkey sandwiches- if they are lucky, judging by those pics- and no fat milk. Ridiculous! |
I might be, that’s why I sleep with married women. I’m honestly more attached than her husband otherwise she wouldn’t be getting naked for me. Long story short no reason to ever get married. I’ll let their husbands deal with all the garbage. |
I’m Afrikaaans by decent and and I’m a big muscular guys. My ex wife was an athletic tall blonde. My kids are big and athletic...the school lunches are crap |
Geez. My kid is as “at risk” as any other kid with a family history of heart disease and/or diabetes. Which would be a huge portion of kids. I really don’t think an 850 calorie meal is extreme portion control. It works fine for my student athlete. Maybe tour child needs to make better choices to fill the 850 calories? I love how the party of small girls v and fiscal responsibility wants the states to pay for each student to eat 2,000 per day at school so that their football player doesn’t have to pack a snack. It is not the state governments job to sustain your kid through their football practice. It is the state’s responsibility to sustain them from 8-3. They should be able to sit at a desk that long on 850 calories plus their breakfast. Good grief. No wonder American kids are obese when their parents get this worked up about them being served fruits and veggies. |
It’s not my kids the state has to worry about. It’s the overweight kids who get free breakfast and lunch on the taxpayer’s dime, and then throw the food away and eats a bag of hot Cheetos for lunch. Those kids wouldn’t eat a vegetable unless they were paid. Perhaps that should be the new obesity program: get paid to eat your free school lunch fruits and veg. I am sure there are plentiful stats that show childhood obesity is way way way down due to the Obama lunch program? Hmmm? |

A 5’8 15 year old boy needs 4,151 calories per day if he’s very active, according to the Baylor College of Medicine. |
Cons just want poor kids to go hungry. You ever taste NOTHING for lunch, day in and day out? Yuck. |
There should be a McDonalds in every school cafeteria. MAGA! |
I also went to school in the 70s. Never saw the abominations pictured above on any tray. You’d have Tater tots and chocolate milk and sliced peaches and a hamburger for lunch. You’d play dodgeball in PE and Red Rover at recess...nobody was fat. Except the day kid, and he honestly had bad genetics. How many here send their children to public school here? |
Where did you go to school?? You must have lived a privileged life behind a gilded bubble. The rest of us weren't so fortunate. My school lunches looked the same (actually, worse) as the lunches in those pictures. |
Are these pictures of the meals that will be served at the Obama 15,000 sq ft 2nd home? |
