That wasn't the point. We would have been better off letting Saddam count his money than having a faction in his place that is actively trying to hurt us. We created this problem...or Bush did? Interpret it however you want, but terrorists were not in Iraq before the war. We set them up really nicely, hell we even gave them weapons and vehicles.

Bush's invasion of Iraq was a terrible idea, but your timeline is wrong -- 9/11 happened before that.

This is all true but there is nothing that can be done about that now. And I’d remind you Hillary and John Kerry voted for the war in 2003. Now we’re stuck with it. So now what do we do?

Oh I fully agree, I'm not blaming her husband for what happened. He was just following orders. But to say "Oh and your welcome" as if by being a part of that operation he was doing me a favor is pushing it a little.

I feel really badly about Paris, like everyone else. But I can't get out the disparity in reaction between this and the Russian plane bomb, for which ISIS takes credit as well. That killed more people, including children. Why didn't the whole world light up for Russia two weeks ago?

He/she is not entirely wrong. How many people raised an eyebrow when ISIS gathered up woman/children and killed them in Syria and Iraq? They make up a larger portion of ISIS victims, but I think for the most part people generally do not care until it affects a group of people they can relate to.

I'm not wrong . I never saw anyone change their Facebook profile pages for the Russian flag, or say I am Russia, or anything of the sort. There was NOTHING comparable to what everyone is doing here for Paris.

I had that feeling too. I went to the Russian embassy to lay flowers and there were much less flowers and sympathy notes than at the Embassy of Netherlands last year. Also, I have not noticed any changes in fb profile pictures after the Russian plane went down. People are people, nobody should die in terroristic acts anywhere.

I agree there is a disparity here.
But, I do believe part of it was due to the fact that it took about a week to identify the true cause of the downing of the plane, if in fact they have definitively identified it.
Have authorities attributed the plane crash to ISIS? Definitively?

What do you expect? It's not as though Russia and the US have had strong relations over history. Western Europe and the US? a little better

France is one of the United States's oldest allies, going back to the War for Independence. It is natural to have a stronger feeling when one of your best friends encounters tragedy.

This is why--for all anyone knew for some time it was another unfortunate air accident. If yesterday's rampage in Paris had taken place in Moscow there would be a far different reaction than for the plane downing.
