Except that managing public image and customer relations by social media is a serious buisness now, as evidenced by the resources (staff) that private schools devote to social media.

Gotcha. Love the Facebook and Twitter accounts publicizing the school play and the community service outing and the Big Game.

We still read DCUM and laugh. It's Parents Behaving Badly, but you can read it all instead of having to hold the phone receiver away from your ear.

I think PP meant, you're not just here having a good belly laugh. Once in a while, if not more often, you urge people to apply because "everyone truly has an equal shot at admissions at our school!" and then you look the other way at the train wrecks that happened this week. Or, you might even jump in to get in a dig about the rival school, who knows. The point is, we don't know for sure, but we sure wonder about you guys!

I'm sure you're right and some administrators post stuff like that (here I am posting, after all). But generally everyone I know mostly just reads it as a guilty pleasure.

Subject of one of the longest-running threads? Heck, yeah, a whole lot of people care.
