It is amazing the blinders being worn by his fans in this thread two decades after his period of stardom. |
The way MAGA is thrown around, anyone who isn't full on lib-trd is MAGA at this point. It is a meaningless term. |
+1 same with calling everyone a racist. It means nothing now. |
I believe he grew up UMC in connecticut with a dad who was a telecom executive, so, he did not come from a trailer park with zero role models for how to save money and spend money, like some teen actors. |
He spoke about the issue. I guess he did not get residuals from Dawson’s Creek. |
https://people.com/james-van-der-beek-secured-down-payment-for-familys-texas-ranch-before-death-11906987 It's absurdly entitled to expect to reside on a multi-million-dollar ranch when you don't have the funds. It's Texas. They could have found a perfectly nice house for a million. |
The nice thing is that you don’t have to make a donation if you don’t want to. There are a lot of people who do want to, and that’s their choice. |
i judge bad parenting, especially when the parents start begging strangers based on their bad parenting. YDY. |
Exactly. |
You're so ignorant. Really, really ignorant. Its just sad. Im sad for you honestly. Lots of people are sick of you all and guess what snowflake? They're not MAGA but they're not psychotic left labeling everyone MAGA or racist either. If you had a brain you would be able to realize this. You're not helping the democratic party like you think you are you're hurting it. |
DP That's what is being reported on TMZ https://www.tmz.com/2026/02/13/james-van-der-beek-purchased-texas-ranch-before-dying/ |
Begging aside, you think every person who dies young who doesn’t have a multi million dollar life insurance policy is a bad parent? Okay. I judge you for being stupid and an @$$hole. And for modeling that to your kids, which I guess could make you… a bad parent? |
The ranch is a massive 36 acres with a 5,149-square-foot main house that features 5 bedrooms and three bathrooms. There's also cabins and a pool on the ranch, plus sweeping views of the Pedernales River. Ffs. People dumb enough to donate, whatever. Until he got sick, why wasn't he churning out Hallmark Channel movies? He would have made bank and his widow wouldn't have needed to grift. As it was, he barely worked for 20 years and she didn't work at all. And now people are paying her millions to live a lavish lifestyle? Okay. |
How does anyone not agree that teaching kids to be entitled and live beyond their means is bad parenting? |
No, not at all. I do think it is bad parenting for an educated person, which Vanderbeek was, for failing to ensure that his unemployed wife and six children are financially taken care of for at least one-year in an untimely death. He should have had the assets (which apparently he did with the new revelation of the home purchase), or life insurance. He was not a poor man unable to secure life insurance prior to his medical diagnosis. I know of people with limited education who have acquired life insurance because they loved their wife and/or children enough to consider their welfare if they are electrocuted while working on the third rail. I don't know why you posters are making excuses for this man. I think it has something to do with he looks like you and yours. |
