Active shooter at Farragut Square - multiple NG soldiers shot

This guy was here illegally. He overstayed his visa which expired in Sept.
He was also illegally in possession of a firearm.
He shot a female NG soldier in the chest then went over to her and shot her in the head.
The suspect was reportedly injured and is also in the hospital.

I don't know what the suspect's condition is - not sure what his injuries are - and I really don't mind if he doesn't survive his injuries.
May he suffer a long, painful demise.

It's definitely partly driven by media. I am with my MIL, and when we heard about the shooting, she immediately said to me "who do you think did it? Do you think it was MAGA militia?" DH and I live in DC. I was like "it was probably some person with mental health issues who is just randomly angry and not focused on politics. or a criminal who got caught committing a crime and shot them to try and get away." She was convinced it had to be some conspiracy. I could not convince her that sometime people get shot and there is no rhyme or reason to it, it's just angry, unstable people with guns most of the time, and nothing bigger than that. It's not organized.

She watches cable news incessantly and reads nothing but the op-ed pages of the newspaper. It's so unhealthy.

Politically related motives are not a "conspiracy." Doesn't mean we know what happened here and why but it's hardly crazy to wonder.

So... We now know the shooter was an Afghan national who came here in 2021 as a result of the collapse of Afghanistan, which was architected by Trump and Pompeo via the deal they made with the Taliban behind everyone's backs.

The result of Biden's catastrophic withdrawal - orchestrated by the Biden administration with Jake Sullivan at the helm - without the approval of the generals who gave other guidance which was totally disregarded.
Then, the idiots in charge at the State Dept. allowed any Tom, Dick or Harry who got onto the plane to get a free flight out and welcomed to the US under “Operation Allies Welcome” when a large portion of those who made it onto the planes were not allies at all. Poorly vetted.
This guy was one of those.

Maybe take a look at who orchestrated the "deal" with the Taliban including the timetable for withdraw and who would be in charge after, bypassing the existing Afghan government.

Hint: It wasn't Biden.

I also just missed this. I was traveling around DC today with family via scooters. I exchanged pleasantries with several of the national guardsmen. They were just standing around minding their own business, perhaps a bit bored- looking tbh. They are all so young. And unless they are stationed in SE, they aren’t doing police work here.
