Jeepers, I did not expect that to be the first response to this thread! A bit harsh.

I was listening to the brother being interviewed on the radio earlier today, which led me to read about the story online. I had not really previously been aware of it.
I don’t know if I’ll be able to stomach watching the Netflix show but it sounds gut wrenching no matter what. The family is still holding out hope for closure of some kind.

DP: Why would it be wrenching to watch? Its not real footage. Its a spin on what the family think happened.

Most likely she fell off, thinking she was going into the bathroom or something. Remember that she had been drinking all night until about 4am. Its odd that her brother left her alone in the bar and came back to the room without her. Then they hung out on the balcony until 5ish am and AGAIN he left her out there? I cannot imagine leaving my drunk sibling on a cruise ship balcony alone.

That is a misrepresentation of what happened. She had had six beers across like 11 hours. And she was the older of the siblings.

6 beers for a woman is a lot. It doesn't matter how old she is or if she's older. You don't leave a drunk person on a balcony alone on a cruise ship.

“Over 11 hours” is a key part of the picture.

What's the source for that?

The bar tabs.

That only shows what she purchased, not what others purchased for her.

I’m sure she drank way more than 7 light beers. People buy each other drinks all the time. And she was hanging with the band, who probably knew the bartender, didn’t pay for drinks, etc

I’m wondering if she had planned to meet up with Yellow to get weed or something like that - she could have left the room without shoes, thinking she’d be right back. The Dad may have known she left and that is why he went into full blown panic mode. He knew she was still wasted from the night before and he knew she left the room. Could have been the noise that woke him or maybe she said she was going for a smoke and she’d be right back. When she wasn’t right back, he went into search mode. It’s possible.

I think the noise that woke him was a big splash.

They were on the 8th floor, I believe. Either 8th or 10th floor. I don’t think anyone is hearing a splash way up there. Maybe a scream or furniture moving.

I think it was the door closing as she left. If she had screamed, others would have heard.

I didn't say "scream" I said "splash"

She was screaming “ i’m the king of the world!”
