And Just Like That Season 3

Justice for Aidan 1.0. They character assassinated him.

Oh well. Glad he’s gone so I don’t have to watch it anymore.

Yaasss! Best ep of the series!

Good lord, I'm so happy they didn't drag it out any longer. I was afraid they were going to wait until the season finale!
But what was in his damn bags?!

I assumed he was planning to mostly move in. Except that he loves Virginia and his life is there. Even if Wyatt isn't living with him, he'd need to be available. That's what started the arrangement debacle in the first place. They never really properly discussed any of this. Even without the blowup, the incompatible lifestyle preferences never would have worked. If anything, they are more different than where they started. And not in a cute "opposites attract" kind of way.

Yeah, weird they never discussed this. Clear that Carrie enjoyed Virginia very much as a once-in-a-while kind of thing, no way she'd agree to split time in a reasonably fair way. So glad it's done.

Not keen on Duncan though. Talk about a one-dimensional character. Maybe a short affair then he heads back to London, but hope that's it. (if they're smart won't go there, because that would in all likelihood ruin his ability to come back).

Never really discussed the reasons for the split with Kathy (Aidan is not the divorcing type) or the Big marriage (just erasure). It was a weirdly schematic move from one plot point to the next, with Aidan given none of the good qualities that originally attracted Carrie to him. The writers did John Corbett dirty. It could have been far more nuanced. Based on the article above, the writers seem clueless about how they villainized his character. Would have been so much better if they had achieved what they said they wanted: a victimless breakup.

On a nice note, how lovely was the exchange between Joy and Miranda? Honesty and tenderness generally lacking elsewhere. Loving this coupling.

They really don't know what to do with Seema and LTW. Seema has so much potential, but the writing for her is meh. Worse than meh is LTW. Maybe an occasional nice clip with Charlotte, making the point that having "mom" friends is important. But her home life is boring and pointless.

Agree. He was appealing for a few minutes during their initial dinner, then that was pretty much it. "I can't come to that apartment, my troubled son needs me, can't manage to meet any of your basic needs" blah blah. In his original arc, he was kind and thoughtful. We really didn't see any of that this time. He was distracted and self-centered.

While there are many things about SATC that don't hold up very well (you could argue that they were off-putting from the start), that show is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better. They really need to put AJLT out of our misery.

The thing is, it's SO MUCH better than the absolutely horrific first season of AJLT. And yet it's so, so bad.

A podcast I listen to blames the writer's room for not having anyone in their actual 50s/60s writing for the show. If these women were in their 40s, ok maybe some of their nonsense might make some sense but it just does not hang together.

Also, these are amazingly wealthy women who try to pretend they are not (when the inane story calls for it) except for sometimes, when they do want us to know they go to private events at Tiffany's. A writer's room where the writers are also coming to terms with the latter part of their careers, or thinknig about legacy, or the next chapter of their lives (and no, Miranda's career storyline is so stupid I can't even remember most of it) could have humor and heart. I can maybe buy that Seema has to pull back a little but her whole idiocy of saving money on salons and nonsense - it's so unrealistic. give us a full picture of her life, not just I can't have a driver and now have eye infections. Or have the cheaper lash guy be abolsutely fabulous and she elevates them. Just come on. Show her as downfall in her 60s due to be too trusting in a male dominated industry (and then fighting back) or show her as a smart accomlished career woman who takes advantage of her new circumstances. Just don't try to mealy mouth stupidity through both scenarios simultaneously.

Hi, I'm the person you quoted and YESSSS!!!! I co-sign your post 10000% I'm a 53 yo woman (who grew up in NYC coincidentally, not that that matters for the sake of the show) and I could come up with a ton of better storylines and character development ideas.

Yes, he wasn't kind and thoughtful Aidan anymore. She was drawn to him initially because he was stable, kind, and reassuring in a way Big wasn't. He's none of those things anymore. I wish there had been more nuanced writing about how people do change, and not always for the better.

The reality is that a New Yorker like Carrie would like hook up with another New Yorker who is as committed to the city and the lifestyle that she is. He would be in finance or potentially the arts or society.

Why not introduce a typical East Coast WASP trust fund baby with a foundation? Or why not introduce a professor who is struggling? Heck, bring back Berger as a writing professor or some such.

She's dated a financier, a start-up guy, and several writers in NYC. There are many other professions. Come on, writers!

why does Seema need such a big office.

what clients ever go to a real estate agents office? I have never been to mine

a private driver for clients of her caliber seems more relevant and even then she would only need that a few times a week max

I think high net worth clients would expect to meet in an office at points during the process. Now her claim that it was cheap is ridiculous.

Sorry, I still love the show. So much TV is is still based on this idealized version of romance. I love that I am rooting against Aiden. It feels very authentic. Romance is messy and stupid more often than it is magical.

High net worth clients are busy and she would meet at their offices.

Its NYC - busy busy Wall Street guy is not coming to midtown office to sign papers (now all done digitally anyway) to discuss what they want (also done via the phone; in their offices in between meetings or on zoom).

Or at a restaurant. The money she spent on the office would be better spent taking clients out to lunch or having a personal driver. She likely does need an office and some staff to handle the paperwork side, but it could be much smaller and doesn't need to look cool or impressive.

TBH, that office would not actually look impressive to any of the clients at her level anyway. It absolutely looked like a We Work.

The Taylor Swift song was perfection in that scene.
