Can we analyze jennifer lopez?

Now that Lopez has edged up to what she calls "the bottom of the A-list of actresses." how does she view the women with whom she's been in contention for roles? Like, say, Salma Hayek? "We're in two different realms. She's a sexy bombshell and those are the kinds of roles she does. I do all kinds of different things. It makes me laugh when she says she got offered Selena, which was an outright lie. If that's what she does to get herself publicity, then that's her thing. Columbia offered me the choice of Fools Rush In or Anaconda, but I chose the fun B-movie because the Fools script wasn't strong enough." Cameron Diaz? "A lucky model who's been given a lot of opportunities I just wish she would have done more with. She's beautiful and has a great presence, though, and in My Best Friend's Wedding, I thought, 'When directed, she can be good.'" Gwyneth Paltrow? "Tell me what she's been in? I swear to God, I don't remember anything she was in. Some people get hot by association. I heard more about her and Brad Pitt than I ever heard about her work." Claire Danes? "A good actress. Her emotional and inner life are available to her, which is a good start. But I feel like I see a lot of the same thing with every character she does. She's not that way in U-Turn, though." Winona Ryder? "I was never a big fan of hers. In Hollywood she's revered, she gets nominated for Oscars, but I've never heard anyone in the public or among my friends say, 'Oh, I love her.' She's cute and talented, though, and I'd like her just for looking like my older sister, Leslie." Madonna? "Do I think she's a great performer? Yeah. Do I think she's a great actress? No. Acting is what I do, so I'm harder on people when they say, 'Oh, I can do that - I can act.' I'm like, 'Hey, don't spit on my craft.”

I'll give it to her that she's a good actress, just not in movies, LOL!

Wow.

Someone should tweet the link to the article.

Talk about a PR nightmare.

What an arrogant moron to talk about her colleagues like this. As if she's done anything impressive beyond the one George Clooney movie decades ago.

She had to send flowers and sorry notes to all these actresses . Gwyneth and Madonna famously hate her

I think she went into music because of this interview. Her agents probably told her she was finished in Hwood . This was her huge scandal before the nightclub arrest.

She was clearly not PR trained at this time and speaking to the interviewer as if they’re good friends speaking off the record .

Legal separation vs. taking a week or two apart to reflect are not necessarily the same thing. Time will tell.

Renting a new house = legal separation
Holing up in a hotel somewhere = taking a week or two apart to reflect

You're way too invested in this relationship and in your adoration of a selfish, witchy shrew.

Oh please I don't like her one bit, just think they may not be past the point of no return yet.

She makes it seem like her romcoms are high quality A list dramatic acting . She’s very delusional

I don’t think she’s ever been in one Oscar nominated movie after 25+ years.

Some of the actresses she disparaged were already Oscar nominated

Is your hate coming from racism or misogyny? Or is it both?

I don't see her giving up easily, but he might be done. I actually think he isn't being fair to her. He knew exactly what and who she was and married her anyway. Then cuts and runs? I think they're both @ssholes.

J Lo is one of those people who doesn’t try to be funny but everything she says and does is hilarious .

Spending 20 million dollars on a Bennifer documentary “This is me Now.. A Love Story” and calling it a must see because it’s the “greatest love Story never told” , and divorcing in the same year is pure entertainment gold.

She’s kept herself relevant for the next 10 years.

Nah society isn't kind to aging women who can't sell tickets anymore, for movies or for concerts. This will fuel a pathetic has-been narrative. I don't think she has the talent to reinvent herself successfully after all of this.

My guess is not only does he hate her lifestyle but he actually became embarrassed by all of her professional failures this year, especially since some were directly embarrassing to him. Everything she's done has flopped, and she's on track for a z-list movie career. So she works constantly, but for what? Drek. What would appeal to him about that?

I think being a celebrity has to be exhausting. It involves constantly thinking about yourself; how you look, what you wear, how you move, what you’re like in public. Then add to that a marriage. Marriage is hard for non-celebrity couples. It is then harder if one is in recovery. But all that while under a celebrity microscope?! No thanks!

Agree. And as hard as it must be for Ben, the scrutiny for the woman is a thousand times worse. I do think it would have been healthier for JLo to downshift at this point in her career, be more selective about projects, and focus on building a strong foundation with her family. Instead of insisting on packaging them as a commodity for public consumption. Making their love story the focus of her work was disastrous, professionally and personally.

Ben seems to be doing a pretty good job of balancing work and family these days. Doesn't seem like they've ever been on the same page and certainly should have figured this out before getting married. Both impulsive and immature decision-makers.

Talent? All she needs is another man . Narcissists like J Lo don’t hibernate and hide from shame and embarrassment. They move on from missteps like they never even happened.

Another man will be with her within a month of the breakup just like all her breakups.

This article in Variety is a must read. Divorce was in the cards months ago . Seems like Ben and everyone else in her life warned her about doing the movie and doc about their relationship .

https://variety.com/2024/film/features/jennifer-lopez-this-is-me-now-musical-film-ben-affleck-love-story-1235908364/amp/

In one scene in the doc, Ben walks into the studio and finds Jennifer showing her songwriters an assortment of love letters he wrote to her over the years. Ben isn’t happy or comfortable with this.

This is actually the worst type of hyperexposure to put on someone in recovery.

J Lo is such a mess.
