It's the guns. More private citizens carrying guns just leads to more gun deaths.

This past week in my hometown, I saw a man with a gun on his hip coming out of a restaurant. No problems, peaceful. Same week, another man robbed a local grocery store at gunpoint and took the police on a chase with girlfriend and baby in the car. Care to guess who'd more likely to own the legal gun? I wonder what would have happened if peaceful gun-owner was in the store at the same time that robber was there. He surely would have noticed the gun on peaceful man's hip. Would he have committed the crime as a result?

In these completely unrelated situations, if neither of men had access to guns guess what would’ve been an outcome?

Anyway, Why does one need a gun to go to a restaurant other than make people around him take a notice. I’d take a notice and worry about my safety. There are so many dumb people out there why should I have to worry wether this particular “law abiding” individual is stable enough not to start shooting at random. He already demonstrated his poor judgment bringing a gun to a crowded public place.

I hope you're not suggesting that people who "reject Christ" are also emotionally and mentally unstable. And what does "rejecting Christ" have to do with anything? Lots of people are non-believers and, even if they are, they do not necessarily follow a Christ-centered religious sub-group.

The United States is literally the only country where this happens on a regular basis and absolutely nothing changes. Other countries have inadequate mental health systems too. Other countries have issues with extremism. However, most other countries don’t allow unfettered access to guns whose sole purpose is to kill. Drag queens aren’t a threat. Trans people aren’t a threat. Seeing a photo of the statue of David isn’t a threat. Guns are the problem.

I can't even begin to imagine my child dying at 9, but then to not be able to hold them and be with them because of a crime has to be another level of pain entirely.
