He really didn't. Too many voters in this district just don't give a crap for some reason.

I find it interesting that no Dem could beat Santos regardless.

Maybe because Dems didn't have the backing and influence machine of Russian oligarchs?

Again, we need to end dark money in politics.

Regretfully, the GOP is only in power because of multiple layers of cheating including dark money and they will fight it.

I find it interesting that every lie he told was something the Republicans in that district would find commendable. Something they and their kids could identify with and aspire to.

Private school, private college, working for financial houses, big money transactions, deep investments, even a little charity with the fake pet rescue organization. Mom working as an executive in one of the towers on 9-11. on and on and on. Scary, scary dude.

I don't know. One of the lies was that he's gay-- he was married to a woman until recently. It's possible he is gay. Also possible that he was just going for an intersectional identity to seem more sympathetic. In any case, it is likely most GOP voters do not aspire to be a gay Brazilian.

Why isn’t anyone realizing that Santos was purposely put up by Republicans?

The entire point of his candidacy was to break norms and see how much voters will tolerate in the name of ideology. There will be 20+ candidates in the mould of Santos in 2024 if this goes unchecked. The entire point of his candidacy was to normalize Manchurian candidates.
