NYU Prof fired because his class was too hard

Kids can’t dictate the hiring and firing at these institutions. They can provide feedback, but hiring and firing should remain an HR thing. This shouldn’t be in open media or in petitions. Kids don’t always know the best ‘way’ to teach or test info. Not all kids are cut out for technical subjects. Not all kids prepare for class. Not all kids do homework. Not everyone reads the textbook. People do not all show up for class. Some kids sleep through class. Kids aren’t experienced enough to tell a teacher the ‘way’ to teach. This is why folks are saying you can’t have the crazies running the school.

My daughter goes to NYU and said she sides with the professor. This is happening everywhere. Do you really think at the other universities this is not happening? The liberal universities, ie most of them are letting this happen. However, do note NYU is 2 for Med school.
The kids shouldn't have a right to have a professor fired. This class weeds out the kids who are not med school material and should.

Why does your daughter side with the professor? Did she take the class or have other personal knowledge of the situation?

I remember being the age of the students and thinking I knew everything. I knew nothing. I shudder to think what we are coming to with kids having a voice via social media. I don't think I really understood how the world worked until I was 28, maybe even 30.

Exactly!! This current generation is far worse thanks we were though. We didn't get people fired.

Kids? These students can vote, sign contracts, join the military.

The student petition didn’t ask for him to be fired. NYU’s administration made that decision on its own. Maybe try reading the article before you spout off next time.

It's pretty clear the teacher sucks when the other 2 classes the kids are passing the exams.

You don’t know that. Plus, sometimes in one semester you get low-performing students. It does happen.

Yes I do know that because it was in the report done by NYU to show that he was a low performing professor.

Students are often misguided but the professor sounds clueless and entitled.

NYU is 2 for Med School? Huh? What ranking is that?

Not sure it is even 2 in NYC.

It is likely #2 (or even #1) for difficulty of med school admissions because it is free.
