Disney did not issue the bonds, and therefore cannot be held liable for the debt. The bonds were issued by Reedy Creek to fund infrastructure development that technically is public because it is held by Reedy Creek and not Disney. |
Isn't equity a good thing? |
I suspect there will be a legal battle over this. Why would these counties agree to take on this debt without a fight? There is nothing that says that these counties have to keep Disney World afloat either. Disney will likely continue to pay for its own security etc. |
What do you mean? Not following. |
Get out of here with your facts and logic. We want to believe that Disney will be benefiting to the tune of $1B in order to feel good about the political position we've tied ourselves to. |
You are really just embarrassing yourself. You keep posting screeds and it is obvious in every one you know absolutely nothing about Disney operations. Zero. Nothing. |
Those bonds have to be paid by Reedy Creek or Orange County. Disney not in the hook. This will all work out. Reddy creek will dissolve but the new reedy creek will be created. Disney holds the cards. |
They have to take it. The land compromising the Reedy Creek district lies in Osceola and Orange counties, and everything will revert back to them if the the Reedy Creek Improvement Act is repealed. The counties aren't denying this either, they are arguing against dissolving Reedy Creek because they can't handle the tax and infrastructure burden it would impose. |
| What’s fun about this is that Disney will be absolutely done contributing to Republican campaigns in Florida. |
Everyone stop. Disney will have its district. Little doubt over that. This is all just nonsense. Why do you think they gave the district another year and a half. To negotiate the new district. Quietly. Over time. The pp that said it was the dog that caught the car is right. |
|
How is Reedy Creek debt split between two counties?
Equally? Based on land area of Reedy Creek in two counties? Orange has 10x the number of inhabitants of Osceola. |
DP. Can you post evidence to refute pp’s point? Everything I’ve seen suggests the monorail is public and goes with reedy creek. |
They already agreed to take the bonds. When the bonds were issued. People don’t buy muni bonds with any risk. Those counties had to stand behind the bonds of something happened to Reedy Creek. |
Who cares and also maybe not. Dollars matter more than a couple of hysterical employees who think 5 and 6 year olds should be told what being gay and trans is. |
