You’ve never had a dish that requires 30-45 minutes of simmering or in the oven and multitasked while it cooked? Come on.

My kid knows that my cell phone is always either in a specific spot in my purse, in a specific spot when it's charging at night, in another specific spot in the house if we're home. Create a spot (or two) for your phone. And get a landline. In case of an emergency 911 can trace a landline's address much faster than a cell phone. |
| Ouch! I hope you heal soon! |
| Put an Alexa in each room and set up emergency calling. You can just yell “Alexa I need help” (or the kids can). |
Your fear did not happen. It almost happened and your DH was on his way home. Next time, leave the baby in a crib or playpen or whatever when doing the older kids baths. Or wait until your DH is home. |
| That is way too much multitasking. I would never cook while bathing the kids except a multi-hour oven or crockpot dish that doesn’t need tending. |

+1. Sorry about the tailbone pain. |
| I nearly died at home of an acute illness when my kids were little. My older child called her grandfather not 911 because she was overwhelmed. It worked though! |
| So much judging. Damn we live in a judgemental society. Glad it ended well, OP. |
| Glad you’re ok! The CPSC has some funny warnings about not leaving food unattended on the stove. It’s tempting, but try not to multitask. |
I’m 45 and still remember how terrible it felt when we lost my little brother. Several times lol. |

Agree. My 3 yo disappeared in a Costco and I literally guarded the exit while my husband and older child searched for her. We found her, but so so scary. |
| Thank God you survived. Now, what would you do different? A couple of years ago my Dad was helping two of my kids with their baths and he took a bunch of towels and put them on the floor by the tub and I was what? He said something like if I slip I’m really going to get hurt. |
