All the men-hating women and some men that call themselves progressives hate the hiring? So what if he’s a friend of one of the owner/investors. The investor mentioned is one of the most progressive, accepting and dare I say liberal people involved. He got into this with other to boost women’s soccer and save the team because he believes in the women.

He is one that believes women should be paid equally - but to do so the revenues and sponsorships have to be there to support more pay and better benefits.

People decry a defense contractor as a sponsor? That money is going to the players to make them solvent and save the team while revenues are down. The firm is also progressive

Not only do progressive, equal rights lovers despise moves that are made by white men, they stand counter to everything they espouse.

Ok - he’s hired. Now hold him accountable and set your expectations high, high as they should be.

You can’t tell us there were not other qualified females in the sport that could have been spoken with.

That is a total BS. Privileged white men, again, dictating the life and careers of women. And they attempt to solve the problem with one of their college buddies.

The players deserve better!

No one know what it is like to be a woman in today’s society if they have not lived in the skin of a woman. This is huge mistake.

The problems with the Spirit run deep, it’s widespread amongst the ownership. You can’t FIX a problem with THE PROBLEM!!!!!

Agreed. When women become majority owners those women can hire whomever they wish. Stop waiting for others to give you something. Instead, take it. Neglect your family and your kids. Work 80 hour weeks. Take a risk. Put your money on the line. Live a shorter life. Be ruthless. Do what men do.

The point is that with both this hire and Richie Burke, the Spirit apparently did not make an effort to look beyond their own inner circle. And. when you don't, you're going to miss out on potentially good candidates.

That's a common but poor business decision.

Agreed. And one way to make this irrelevant is for women to own the team. Then they can create the good old women’s club just like many men do or be better and be a inclusive and look beyond their inner circle.

Why are the games at Audi field so empty? It seemed like the team had a lot of momentum and selling out the stadium a couple years ago.

It’s in a garbage neighborhood that’s not safe to take your kids home from after the game. I have wanted to take my kids to a game for years but they are either an hour plus away in traffic wat out of the city, or they end late at night too far from metro.
