ACPS Hutchings BTS video stating ACPS was closed due to systemic racism

He just wanted to be credited with having acknowledging racism. Dome nothing about it, but he once did acknowledge it.

If anything the pandemic taught society how much racial disparity there is. Wealthy, white people had flexible jobs, hired tutors, formed school pods, had fast internet, could supervise their kids in greater numbers than POC.

I work with children who live in Section 8 housing, most of them are hispanic or children of immigrants whose parents don't speak English. These kids absolutely suffered horribly while school was closed and are severely behind. Keeping the schools closed tremendously hurt them. I find it so disingenuous to throw these statements into the discussion about school closings and covid and not recognizing or addressing the irrefutable harm that has been placed on some pockets of society. Hutchings should be fired.

WTF? I am sure there is systematic racism in the schools, like most everywhere in America. But how that kept the schools closed, I have zero idea. He makes no sense.

He is such a hypocritic! If he really cares about racial disparity and the kids, he should try his best to keep the building open, at least to those kids.
