Not reporting her but..

Many of you don’t understand what “factually correct” means. The US is not the only country with lockdown drills. The US is not the only country with “crazy people with guns.” So, the teachers statements are factually false.

The spirit of them isn’t though. So again, OP can report away, there’s nothing wrong with what she said. We have lockdown drills in schools because our country doesn’t care about gun control or kids. I say it to my classes too. It isn’t wrong.

Yeah, sorry. I think this is stupid. Most first world countries don’t. Good enough

The statement is wrong factually (other countries have school shootings even if not as many, and many students across the world have to drill for things that are equally terrible, like terrorism or rocket attacks). The teacher is further wrong, because they are specifically instilling psychological terror in a child in the service of a political point. And THAT is why you should report her.

No, she isn't.

No she isn't. Spend one day is a school in Israel and you would understand what real threats are like.

You spelled Palestine wrong

True. Romans called the Jews 'Palestinians'.

7th grade ~ students are old enough to recognize that not all adults agree. Not all adults will watch what they say every moment. Will not be professional every moment.

Hell yeah I'd report her.

Whats her name and what school? I'll report her for you.

Um, I think the people with guns shooting up schools are one instilling psychological terror.

Are you OK with teaching her about blacks being responsible for the vast majority of violent crime in this country, despite being a minority population?

This is fun. Lets play!

But children don't understand "the spirit" of such statements.

So does the Almanac and the United Nations.

The teacher’s private views on firearm ownership are not part of the curriculum and she has no business imposing them on students.

Maybe the teacher is fine with firearm ownership, but not in the case of the mentally ill? Are you seriously in denial about the fact that the wrong people are getting guns?

the US is the only country where enough of the crazy people have both guns and a proclivity to shooting up schools that lockdown drills are a necessity. Canada can pretend that it has similar problems, but no other country can match Sandy Hook (maybe Dunblane, but that resulted in legislation strong enough to prevent a recurrence)

This happen 3 months ago I’m wondering if this is okay?

It's fine-- even if you don't agree, it's 7th grade, not kindergarten. Yeah, it's not entirely accurate, but maybe as a teacher who works in a school, guns may be a source of worry and frustration for this teacher.
