How old was your child when they got braces?

11. Worn for about 20 months. Now wears a retainer at night and has a two-teeth permanent retainer as well.

9. His adult teeth started to come in horribly crooked to the point where he couldn't bite well. He wore Invisaligns for 18 months, and now wears a retainer. His teeth look great now, but he has lost relatively few of his adult teeth. Orthodontist has warned us that he may need further work in the future.

DS was 8. Had to get braces on lower teeth due to an extra tooth falling out early and needing room for the adult tooth to eventually grow in. Was supposed to be for a year but got extended a few months due to COVID. Wearing a retainer at night now. Will likely need to be evaluated for full braces again in a few years once all baby teeth have fallen out.

15-16 for all my kids. We don’t buy into the two rounds of braces nonsense. Our dentist (also a family member) told us it was just a way for orthodontists to get rich. The kids’ teeth are perfect. They were in braces for about 18 months.
