This is my every day sunscreen

Same. This is the best!

+1, love this sunscreen

Question for all: do any of these leave white cast? I am South Asian and want to avoid that if possible.

No, Elta does not leave a white cast. It’s the perfect sunscreen.

You don't have issues with it pilling? I got tired of it so switched. Maybe just not a good match w/my moisturizer.

The best daily sunscreen is ISDIN photo Eryfotona Actinica. It’s 100% mineral sunscreen (spf 50), ultralight, reverses sun damage, and doesn’t leave your face white. You can apply makeup over it and your face doesn’t feel heavy. It was recommended by my dermatologist. My MIL used to use Elta and switched because she thought it was so much better.

Reapplying liquid sunscreen over makeup is a mess.

My derm recommended the Colorescience powder and I love it for this purpose. I keep one in my purse and my car.

No, I don’t have that issue.

Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen is amazing. It really does feel like a velvety primer. No smell, no white cast, works well under make up.

Milani makes an SPF makeup setting spray now. I use that to reapply.

Your face isn’t tanning. You likely have melasma, and that is largely hormonal. While sunlight can exacerbate it, your current sunblock routine is fine. Big glasses and a hat might help, too.

I like this one. I am 40 and have dry skin. No cast. no pilling.

I’m not the PP, but I have pilling issues with it.

Supergoop also has a SPF powder. I like it a lot and use it for touch ups during the day.

OP here. Thank you so much everyone! I have my annual Derm visit in 2 weeks so I will ask about melasma. Depending on what she says I will try either the elfa or the supergoop unseen. Thanks again! I actually don’t wear foundation (except a touch up under my eyes) so I could theoretically reapply and avoid near my eyes.

Thanks again!

I use my normal moisturizer underneath and reapply the spf throughout the day. No burns, no breakouts, and very few freckles gained this year.

I have been trying to do better about sunscreen and this is the key piece I'm terrible at. I want to set my face and forget it as I go about my daily life. I think re-applying is probably the best way to do this. I do layer products with SPF in the morning sometimes (a moisturizer with SPF and a stand alone SPF) but my face still gets too much sun. Hats would help too, but again it's just not in my daily routine to wear one.

I find the colorscience brush on sunscreen powder is really helpful for this - just brush it on over makeup before you go outside.

I am south Asian and I use Elta MD UV Clear and their new UV Sheer. Neither of them leaves a white cast. I always think UV sheer is going to, but it disappears after a few seconds.

Me too. Goes on smooth like silky lotion. Not sticky.
