Close the school?? After a much awaited and awesome increase in URM admissions? The optics would be horrible — something straight out if the 1950s deep south.

Unless they can show that the kids admitted were not, in fact, FARMS or black/Hispanic, I think you are right. The school board should absolutely request an analysis of the number of kids that changed from regular to FARMS during the past school year and same with ethnicity.

The time to close the school was last year. That ship has sailed. The best possible idea now is to change it to an acadmey. It makes sense given the demand (there are over 1000 kids on the waitlist!) and how other VA governor schools operate.

how is this different? At root admissions is based on results in the home school as a backdoor way to achieve diversity.

Bingo - as a public school in Fairfax County, it is totally legitimate for the School Board to decide to allocate admissions slots, in the first instance, equally among all middle schools. This approach will not be struck down by anyone.

That some families gambled on the admissions policy never changing is just the way things go. Things change. That does not mean they are illegal or wrong.

A lottery with seats allocated by middle school would have passed muster. That's not what they're doing, and it's their purported "holistic" approach that rewards so-called "experience factors" that may well get shredded in court.

The "prep" lady is lying again. Repeat after me "FCPS did not set out to fix a 'prep' problem for TJ". FCPS went out to address a racial makeup problem of TJ. It had nothing to do with "prep". Do you work for FCPS to post this red herring everyday?

The only major gaming-admission scandal backed up by evidence is committed largely by white people. Rick Singer is white. His hired SAT test taker is white. His clients are mostly white. No one believes your slander to TJ students and their families other than racists.
