Best sleeper sofas for picky in-laws 😬

Get one tomorrow. Would you mind recommending your topper?

OP, I had a futon couch that was a very comfortable bed, especially with a topper. The futon folded lengthwise in sofa mode, and it was very flat and stable when open.

+1 Same.

+2 My husband and I would never, ever allow either set of parents or any of our elders to sleep on the sofa. They need the bed in the primary bedroom and OP/spouse need to sleep on the sofa. Or kick kids out of their bedrooms, put two beds side-by-side and let the parents or elders sleep there. The kids can bunk up with their parents.

How is this even a question!?! Who would treat guests that way by putting them on a sofa??? Yikes!

way more. But that's what we got for the inlaws. We got the memory foam mattress that the company offered as well--very comfortable.

We upgraded the mattress on our queen bed and kept the mattress. When I open up our queen sized sofa couch, I get the extra matress from the basement and put it on top. My parents and MIL have said that it is quite comfortable.

If you don't want to deal with an extra mattress, get an inflatable mattress, one of the ones that come with an air pump to inflate. And when you open the sofa couch, put the air mattress on top. It's much more comfortable than the air mattress on the floor or the sofa couch without the mattress.

We have a sofa bed from Crate and Barrel and bought a 4 inch memory foam topper for it. It is very comfortable.

American Leather sleeper sofas are very comfortable! I slept on one for weeks at my brother’s house. The mattresses are thick memory foam — no bars.

OP here. I’m not putting them on a sofa. It would be a pull-out sofa bed. Sheesh. And all I was asking if any comfortable sofa beds existed. No need to overdramatize!

Was coming here to say the exact thing. We got ours at Room & Board — sold there but the manufacturer is American Leather. I think it was $3000 so considerably over your budget. We also have a mattress topper and it’s truly comfortable. Someone else suggested a Murphy Bed but the ones within our budget were too expensive and the ones I liked were way put of range.
