Target or Amazon or Cash. I know you don't want corporate, but those are the places with useful things. I can buy things for work or to treat myself. Cash would allow me to spend it for a splurge during the summer for a spa day or trip or something. Teachers also don't make a lot - cash in that amount might let them do a home upgrade or fix a car. It really isn't tacky - it allows them to spend as they see fit. Definitely not a chain restaurant.

Why does everyone say Target? I can’t think of a store I hate more than Target. Seriously. I’d rather receive a $750 gift card to Walmart than Target.

Amazon! I’ve used Amazon birthday/Christmas cards for everything from “toys” to a good winter coat.
