When did your sons get taller than you?

5’8” and one passed me at 13, the other may be older if ever. I have kids on opposite sides of average (90-95%-tile, and 30-40%-tile).

I’m 5’7” and younger DS is almost my height at 12. Older DS is 5’10 and DD topped out at 5’5”.

I'm 5'7 and my son passed me at 13. Now at 15 he's 8 inches taller than me. I get on my tippy toes to hug him.

I also know if you are a shorter woman, this will happen sooner- obviously.

But I can't picture looking at my kids in the eye at my eye level. I'm 5'9", so not super tall but certainly taller than most women.

Just curious what the average has been

5'8 - 10th

5’9” and my 14.5 yo (8th grade) just hit my height if not 1/4” taller this past week. It literally happened overnight, and it’s a super weird feeling for me to be at the same height!

Granted I am only 5'3" - DH is 6'2" - both DS and DD were taller than me a few months into 6th grade. DS is now 6 feet and DD is 5'6"

I'm 5'4 and DS passed me as he approached 14. He's between 5'9 and 5'10 at 19, which makes him the tall person in our nuclear family. DD maxed out at 5'3.
