But neither look like OPs pictures. The hairstylist obviously sucks and overcharges.

She doesn't set her prices an OP likely knew the cost before going.

OP here - of course I knew the price. I didn't mind paying that much for a service I expected to enjoy. I wouldn't mind the money aspect if it didn't feel like I was throwing the money out.

And yes my husband cares. He doesn't mind the price either but expects accurate service too.

I have a stylist I love near my old house but it's far away. I guess I"ll have to go back there next time, if there is one.

Does he also expect for you to remain at your high school weight?
My DH is more laid back than yours--- thank god.

You saw OP's pictures??

Wait.
So you wanted subtle highlights? Like your original color with soft highlights?

She did it too highlighty/ too blonde.

So she toned it down to your original color with light brown highlights?

What am I missing? Do you know what you want? Your original color with fewer, lighter highlights?

Everyone’s hair responds to color differently. This is why you establish a relationship with a stylist and stay loyal—AFTER they get into a groove with your particular hair.

You paid for the stylist’s time and materials (once). They gave you their time for free the second time. It’s completely unreasonable to expect the stylist to now eat their time and costs for both rounds, for a new client.

You are still supposed to tip. I can’t believe you didn’t tip at all.

Your DH is ignorant. Embarrassing.

Really? Why would you if you don’t like the results? A tip is for a job well done. It isn’t an invoice you are obligated to pay
