| This happened to me in college. I came back the next year, got a job and finished part-time over a year. Worked out fine. Looking back on it: I was tapped out, had undiagnosed ADHD and was immature. A year of part-time school, full-time work fixed problem. |
| The other thing to consider is- depression. If this is depression, then they will need help to fix this. If not depression I would turn the question backs to them. What happened? How did you get here? What are going to do to fix this? They need to figure this out BEFORE they get into a job setting and don’t know how to fix not getting their work done. Then and only then would I say what can your family do to support. Maybe they really need to fund their education in part for them to get that actions have consequences to them. Be careful ADHD kids want to avoid dealing sometimes and they need to find a different approach when they get stuck. See if school has a support center for kids with ADHD. |
Why? |
+ therapy just to make sure everything is ok If not okay, take 6 months off, work a little, take a community college class, and then go finish |
