That was a crappy time for soccer. Too many so called high -level teams and just a watered down mess all around.

They can not use a few invites to drive an entire league that is very very costly and has a heavy cost and time burden for travel. Families will not tolerate that so they be practice players for a few players. It did not work as a marketing strategy.

Ecnl used that marketing strategy as well but that is not why most of the players are in the league. When the GDA took that marketing angle away, sound me, most of the players stayed in the ecnl league anyway.

Club talk is not accurate when age groups matter way more than club. Every club has an amazing XX birth year, but crappy XX birth year. Only metric is standings, albeit Carolina's didn't play NOVA this year... but between NOVA clubs, standings and performances in tourneys are quite clear who's better.
