Kid specific and depends on how long you'll be in any one place. I wish my parents had done this when visiting my grandparents for a month every single summer. I hated not seeing any kids for so long. I was incredibly lonely. I kept that time in mind during covid isolation.

I also was the random kid that befriended the granddaughter of some neighbors up the street from my house when she had to visit during holidays.
