| These hey look at me people are cray cray |
| This woman is not going to prison. She will likely not go to jail, either. If they reeeeaaallly throw the book at her, she might get 30 days in the county lockup, but I’m guessing she’ll just get probation. |
| The couple can file a civil suit against her, can’t they? That would hurt if they have to sell house, etc. |
Of course. If the evidence shows what the DA says it does, then it sounds like the couple will have a slam dunk libel suit. The accuser also might have an umbrella insurance policy that could pay the innocent couple more than the DA ever could. |
+1 Hate crime. |
+1 YAS! Understatement!! |
+1 That's how I feel. You lie to the police, you try to mess with someone else who is innocent, you pay. |
Yeah, but she will get the record she deserves, which is kind of nice. |
+1 If she is the money maker (or her family has money), he will be all over her: "Good job Katie! You were just doing what you thought was right Katie! I see nothing wrong with what you did, Katie! You are so funny/smart/wonderful Katie!" Ad nauseam. |
This times a million! What a POS. That poor couple. |
|
I am missing the part where investigators were able to determine that she was lying.
She was pretty specific in her description about activity near her car, a white van, etc. Did parking lot cameras negate all that? Did store cameras see that no one was following her? I found this to be very disturbing, and yes, it would appear that this couple was just shopping and minding their own business. At what point did she determine they were about to kidnap her kids? Was she literally making it all up? Or was it a misperception on her part? |
It was racism and being a drama queen on her part. |

From the People article:
“Sadie and Eddie Martinez, the parents of five accused by Sorensen of attempted kidnapping, spoke to The Argus-Courier of Petaluma about the charges against her. "We're very happy with the news," Sadie told the paper. "It's a nice step toward justice. It gives you hope."” Her lie impacted a completely innocent family. Can you imagine what would happen to this family had somebody believed her lies? She needs to serve jail time. |
