| No cleaners. 4600 square foot house. I keep a cleaning schedule. Lighter cleaning during the week, heavier on weekends. Usually a “special project” each week like organizing the pantry. |
| Have never hired anyone to clean my house. I really don't mess up the house, so it takes very little effort to keep it clean...maybe 1 hour a week? |
| Had a cleaner pre covid and loved it. But I don’t think we will go back to it. I can’t justify the expense. We are able to clean the house. It isn’t as clean as it was because it gets done a little every day. (No “yeah!” Moment like you get at the end of the day when cleaners come.). But it is good enough. |
| I did before Covid. 2x a month. $150 for 6 bed 7 baths. Now I do it myself. Thinking about having cleaners come back though. |
|
I had cleaners 2x/month pre-covid. They've only been here once since then.
I'm not worried about the exposure. It's just that I feel weird being home while they're here and I've only been to the office a couple times over the past year. I guess this shows my middle-class roots. People who are used to having "help" can just act like they aren't there. I just end up feeling guilty, like I should be mopping too. |
| Yes. $140 biweekly. About 2500sq ft. But she is meticulous and amazing. We paid same during covid and she came maybe once a month on a weekend when we would leave the house for half a day. |
| I have cleaners every other week and spend about an hour a day cleaning. It’s too much to do the deep clean too. |
|
Cleaners every 2 weeks.
They do everything except laundry, but they would if I asked them to. $165 for approx 4,300 sf. They come as a team and are here for approx 2 hrs. They need to be in and out quickly. I don’t want a single person here all day. |
| Yes I clean my own house. I would feel really strange having somebody come in and clean my dirty toilets and shower stall for me when I’m the one getting it dirty and yet I think it’s a great service for others. Go figure! |

My husband does the weekly dirt reduction and I do one focused cleaning project a week -- the fridge, the doors on the kitchen cabinets.
We've tried to have cleaners, but they always seemed to have a set list of projects, and they ended up doing things we actively didn't want, so it was more hassle than it was worth. I don't remember what we paid, but I just looked at it as a utility. Life is easier with electricity and with someone else cleaning the bathroom. |

Nope.
4K square foot house. Handful of kids. Busy parents with stressful jobs. Nonetheless, we clean up after ourselves. We can afford cleaners, but we prefer to invest that money in travel. Also, we want our kids to have the basic life skills of cleaning up after themselves. I understand why someone would value a deep clean. I don’t understand why anyone would pay someone to dust, vacuum and change sheets. Those are easy tasks handled quickly. |
Except for all the people that do not! |
|
No, I can't afford it.
I did have house staff in a developing country, and it was heaven! |
|
Is this area more dusty and buggy than let's say, Colorado?
I mean what's with all the spiders and bugs in the corner of rooms downstairs? How do they get it? I have to clean the ceiling corners from nasty bugs every week or more often? |

No cleaners. Joint project with husband and 2 teen boys done as a team. We all grocery shop together too.
It's worked out great on so many levels. |
