You're talking to multiple people. I'm not the person you are responding to here, but I am the person who noted that no local club dominated the Jeff cup and therefore it was an appropriate competition for local clubs to enter. You responded that I lacked knowledge when making this statement, but have not yet backed that up. Again I said that no local club dominated the Jeff cup. Why is that statement "lacking in knowledge"? |
Different poster. Based on my observations, this area can only support about two truly elite girls teams per age group. If you think that’s a “hotbed” more power to you. To me, 5 ECNL and 2 GA teams in this area is more aptly termed a “hot mess.” |
Another Poster. Totally agree! but a consolidation of "Elite" teams means less $$$ to go around for the others. |
Two elite teams huh. Think about that for a second. You’re wrong again. |
Your observations. Bawhhaaaaaaa. |
|
Tell us, based on your observations, when should the best 36 players per age group be picked and consolidated and by whom. Who is the expert who is going to find, evaluate and pick the best in a population of 2.5 million people in NOVA.
Also, what exactly is the point to consolidate the best 36 while throwing away the other 100. You trust the system to be free of politics and fair. You believe all kids will stay the same? Are you will to throw away talent song your kid can beat Real SoCal? |
| Should read: Are you willing to throw away talent so you can say your kid beat Real SoCal. |
No but others should face the reality that they aren't "elite." |
The issue is that you don’t know what elite is. |
You really think that NOVA has 5 teams worth of girls and boys? |
No. What I said is that it’s fertile ground and a war created this mess. This area can and should support at least four girls team. I don’t know boys so I won’t comment. If spaced properly, Loudoun, Prince William, Arlington and Fairfax can each field elite teams. |
| Essentially get rid of BRYC, FCV and Metro. |
| I would think that a top notch coach should be put together an elite level team in NOVA area by both developing and recruiting players. The problem with dilution is not that there is lack of talent but most DA and ECNL coaches in our area have no clue about how ot develop talent and depend on recruitment too heavily. |
| We should have only 10–20 elite team in the entire country. Too much dilution. These kids should home school so they can concentrate on soccer. |
Lol. We should have one elite team in the country....oh wait |
