| We were considering a potential move to this team but it seems there may be some real issues among parents on this team that are creating issues. Is this accurate, or is this just a couple vocal people who are unhappy. Thanks in advance. |
This is probably outside people or the old coach trying to muddy the waters. If you are good enough for this team, than go out and make a decision on our your own and don't believe an anonymous board. |
| I know parents on this team. Nice families and the girls seem happy. Many have been together since U9-U10. PP is probably some disgruntled FCV dad trying to stir up drama......same one who was bashing on Arlington girls in another post. Have your daughter go to an id session and experience it herself. |
There is definitely an "in" crowd on our team. Board member's kid, etc. Go in with eyes wide open and make a decision for yourself. |
No team is perfect and McLean 07 is no different. Many nice girls and families on the team, good talent, nice coaches. There is some truth to everything posted in this thread about some favoritism etc but it’s without a doubt one of the top teams in the area. Have your daughter go to a few practices and see if it’s a good fit for her. |
I would also add- go to one of their games. Their schedule is on the ECNL website. Great chance to see how players are managed how the parents act etc |
If we actually start playing games.....we haven't done much. |
DP, but this feels a little more dysfunctional than some of the other 07 ECNL teams in the area, which is saying something! |
The experience I’ve seen is non-players getting pulled for mistakes, working out with 3-4 of the same players privately (not paid for lessons), favored players not being pulled for mistakes, etc. Depending upon favored status determines playing time and tolerance for mistakes. And don’t get me started on Nadir. You better never make a mistake on his team or you might as well sell your jersey. |
| Clueless comments about Nadir. Not at all accurate. |
Or parents who are scared your kids gonna take a spot from theirs on the team. |
| not equally developing all players is basically just having a team of 12 and then everyone else is 2nd class / filler status. if you can tolerate it then go for it. |
It’s not a spot on the team that the team manager is worried about, it’s better players coming in and taking the spotlight off her daughter. |
| I agree with the other post that this is probably the old coach still sour about being let go from the club........negativity about board members, other coaches, manager right as tryouts are starting up. Any parent that unhappy would be spending time looking at other club options and not acting juvenile on this forum. |

No dog in the fight here as I'm researching for my son. However in reading this thread last night and then again now, I can't help but comment here.
We come here for information, albeit with a grain of salt considering the anonymous sources. However, the public sound off on a 14 year old girl is absolutely unacceptable. It is one thing to critique a coach or a teacher. But to embarrass a mother, father, and their daughter is beyond comprehension. If you had the courage to approach the mom, perhaps even with the coach, maybe thigs would sort themselves out. I don't understand how this is even allowed on a public forum. Again, adults one thing, but minors???? This post is a disgrace and should be reported. |
