1) SB 1303 requires full time in person, regardless of CDC guidance 2) presumably transmission should be way down as all adults and quite possibly those 12+ will be vaccinated |
SB1303 has a million loopholes..don't kid yourself. |
Using “littles” to describe cohorts of students is a bit juvenile. |
You're kidding, right? You sincerely think the SB demonstrated any stronger leadership under Murphy?! |
Where? The rec centers in the most crowded parts of Arlington are being used as vaccination sites |
1000 times agree, especially the bolded part. |
Sure, his plan includes opening 4 days in the fall. Where has he committed to 5 FULL days in the fall? He hasn't. Wishful thinking. Report back in August when this magically changes to oops, we can't figure it out so we're doing hybrid again. |
So irrational and out of touch with reality. Dude - get some help. |
Exactly. My kids are back in hybrid right now and really want to go back 4-5 days, BUT I acknowledge the reality of our tough situation and the very real constraints. |
Yes, they took on more of the decision making process under Murphy. I don’t get all hot and bothered over conversations like this, but here are some extra punctuation marks to make you feel at ease: ?! |
He has said "5 days in the fall" multiple times. He has been very clear with his communication so that is on you if you can't keep up. Go read the Tuesday 4/6 School Talk message for the latest if you want to see with your own eyes. I haven't watched the SB meeting but he may have discussed it last night as well. STFU until you are better informed. |
Through a mask, please. |
On in person days, my kid is still mostly being taught over the iPad. She gets 40 minutes of in person teaching as an elementary student, and that 40 minutes is concurrent with another in person class. APS is allowing more than one elementary class to be taught by a single teacher, effectively doubling class sizes while the virtual class' teacher just "supervises" instead of teaching. This is happening. Even when the teacher is present, they are often choosing to play pre recorded videos instead of offering live teaching. Yesterday was a gloriously beautiful day. For PE, the kids watched a video in the gym of the PE teacher giving a lesson, who was present and not doing anything. APS needs to up its game and stop relying on screens. It's so so lazy and there is zero reason to believe that this is going to change in the fall. |
I agree that sounds awful and I’m not being contrary, but my fourth graders experience is nothing like that! Coming home with work done on paper, drawings, poems, study guides. They even did art outside one day. |
Given that the CDC change makes busing simpler, why can't we extend in person days to the normal length? Has Duran answered this question? |
