Was able to register them for one of the mass vaccination sites, where Hogan said they will take all comers.

How did you get from preregistering to registration?

I used this site: https://massvax.maryland.gov/

If you enter different locations you’ll see the availability of appointments - for example, enter Ocean City, MD to see Salisbury.

This is what we did for DS 16. You pre-register, answer all questions honestly, and then wait for a call when you come up to the top of the line to make an appointment. We did this on Saturday and received a call to make an appointment on Sunday, and scheduled for later this week. When you pre-register, you select your first choice of location, and then give additional backup choices. We picked Greenbelt because it’s the closest to us. Greenbelt is being run by FEMA and apparently is schedule it Phase 3, presumably because there aren’t enough Phase 2’s pre-registering for that location.

This. Pre-register and pick Greenbelt. I know several people who have appointments coming up next week who wouldn’t have otherwise been eligible, but they pre-registered honestly and got calls. They’re trying to fill spots.

I don’t know about Maryland, but in some states and local jurisdictions, the computer sign ups are set to bump up less eligible people if those in the current phase are not signing up in sufficient numbers. Shots in arms trump higher levels of eligibility if those more eligible are not signing up.

Look they just want everyone vaccinated ASAP. Illegals, middle age, teens, etc. if they ask just say you have adhd (group 2b two month ago) or have a BMI over 25.

I know a bunch of healthy young people who are scheduled to be vaccinated this week at Greenbelt. They're all general population and didn't check any special boxes.

I made a totally legit appointment for my 16-year-old who has health issues at one of the pharmacies. The pre-registration at the mass site has not opened up appointments yet at least for him so we went to one of the pharmacies that was giving them to 16+ with medical concerns. Also please don’t assume you know what medical conditions people have.

I had an appointment scheduled for my 16 year old son (legit reason )at Walgreens today. I decided to call yesterday just to confirm that they have the Pfizer vaccine. Turns out they don’t. So make sure you double check the site you’re going to has Pfizer.

Why are you looking for Pfizer only?

Pfizer is the only vaccine approved for 16 & 17 year olds.

Calling bs on this. My spouse is pre-registratered everywhere (moco, state etc.) And we've just received informational emails. Not the registration email. He must have checked off a risk group.

I preregistered with neurological issues and still have yet to hear anything.. People are lying.

You don't even have to pre-register. Everyone is eligible for walk in (please ignore the PPs on here trying to claim differently, who don't want anyone to get vaccinated); they are wrong and doubling down on crazy). There were a lot of teens in Salisbury over the weekend. And they have more vax then bodies out there.

The band-aid on my arm on Thursday after I return from Greenbelt will let you know much I'm lying. Registered over the weekend with no health issues and got called back the next day to make an appointment.

As kindly as possible to the person upthread who preregistered with neurological issues: that is not the best way to end up with an appointment. Go to MD Vaccine Hunters on FB for tips.

And agree wi PPs upthread: my 17 yo DD has an underlying immune condition that is not public knowledge & none of your business. I am a former smoker, which qualifies me, whether that makes you angry or not. My DH has high blood pressure. Also qualifies him. Therefore, we were able to drive to Salisbury where there is an abundance of openings.

Stop judging people & ask for help on MD Vaccine Hunters if you need it, are eligible, and want a shot. They will find you one.

My friend in AA County said she was allowed to preregister about 2 weeks ago (before Hogan's announcement). She is in her 30's and healthy. She is getting the vaccine in PG County today. My DH (57) registered as soon as Hogan made his announcement saying he would go to any MD spot. He has heard nothing back. We re trying to follow the rules but it is very frustrating. Maybe we will just drive to Salisbury but it does not seem like we should have to...12 hours in the car what a waste of time and gas.

If you are eligible, you need to start actively looking for available spots from every provider you can think of - by the time you get an invitation, it may be too late - available spots disappear very quickly in Montgomery County. Some providers don’t even allow preregistration - you just have to keep checking the websites - Holy Cross hospital is an example of this.

Bookmark a dozen sites and keep checking - maybe 20 times per day. Do not wait for invitations!

Examples for people in MoCo:

MedStar
Suburban Hospital
Holy Cross Hospital
Adventist Hospital
CVS
Walgreens
Safeway
Giant
MoCo official sites
MD Max Vax sites

If you see an opening - you have to grab it. You can’t wait around even 5 minutes.

Is this true?
