Against more than one or two strains? You're lying. |

“There also has been concern that variants may render the vaccines less effective. The study’s results do not confirm that fear.” |

We can cherry-pick all we want but nothing is proven yet. It is better to be safe than sorry. ![]() |
But what about ACPS' metrics? Aren't those the standard that everyone should be going by? |
I want the CDC director to NOT tearfully talk about her impending sense of doom while also relaxing all standards in schools pretty much. It’s one or the other. It’s safer or we are headed to doom. Pick a lane. |
You can always find a reason not to do something. Keep them closed, flip the state, and purge every one of these union slaves. |
In Alexandria, I guarantee you that every school board incumbent will be re-elected in the fall. And every city council incumbent who hasn't said a word for the last year but who have suddenly noticed that this is an issue and are now pretending to care, will be re-elected too. And schools will still be closed. |
They have done lots of things. Meeting upon meeting to rename some things. They send out missives for every local, national and international news piece to either support or condemn. We can not expect them to do the hard meaningful things, that would take skill, talent and a lack of selfishness. |
Actually, the "burden of the goddamn pandemic" has been on healthcare workers and front line workers, not your privileged kids sitting in their nice DCUM-land houses doing distance learning during a "goddamn" pandemic. |

It's maddening how some people are fixated on the pandemic and not considering that masks work. The kids needs to be in school, full-time. For those that are not comfortable, you have the option to keep them remote. |
People can have different levels of burden. This comment is ignorant crap. No one said that front line and health care workers did not experience a great (or greater burden). But it is ignorant to say that the pandemic was also not a burden on our children - especially special needs children who have difficulty accessing virtual schooling. |
